Stage 1, mathematics, Year B – Unit 38
This two-week unit develops students' knowledge and understanding of applications of data and chance, and their interconnectedness.
In this unit, 'Data is collected to solve problems', students are provided opportunities to:
- select appropriate methods to collect, display and interpret data
- identify misleading data
- learn the order of seasons and months of the year and how to use a Gregorian calendar
- use the language of chance to reason about possible outcomes in familiar activities.

Form, regroup, and rename three-digit numbers

- Represent data with objects and drawings and describe the displays

- Identify a question of interest and gather relevant data
