Stage 2, mathematics, Year B – Unit 25

This unit develops the big idea that questions can be asked and answered by interpreting data.

Students are provided with opportunities to:

  • select and trial methods for data collection
  • construct and interpret data displays with many-to-one scales
  • read, write, order and partition numbers up to 4 digits.

Represents numbers using place value A – MAO-WM-01, MA2-RN-01

Whole numbers: Read, represent and order numbers to thousands

Data A – MAO-WM-01, MA2-DATA-01, MA2-DATA-02

  • Collect discrete data
  • Organise and display data using tables and graphs
  • Interpret and compare data

Data B – MAO-WM-01, MA2-DATA-01, MA2-DATA-02

  • Select and trial methods for data collection
  • Construct and interpret data displays with many-to-one scales
