Information about our Ministers.
The Minister for Education (The Hon Rob Stokes MP) is the Coordinating Minister of the education cluster. The Coordinating Minister is responsible for setting policy directions, developing service delivery strategies within the cluster and coordinating across clusters to achieve whole of government outcomes. The Coordinating Minister is responsible for allocating the cluster budget appropriations to entities within the cluster, in consultation with Portfolio Ministers and the Secretary.
The Minister for Education is responsible for the NSW Department of Education and the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
The Minister for Aboriginal Affairs (The Hon Sarah Mitchell MP) is responsible for Aboriginal Affairs, NSW Aboriginal Land Council and the Registrar of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act.
The Minister for Early Childhood Education (The Hon Sarah Mitchell MP) is responsible for regulation of early childhood education and care services and funding early childhood education.
Under the current cluster arrangements, the Assistant Minister for Education (The Hon Sarah Mitchell MP) is the lead Minister for Aboriginal languages (including the Aboriginal Language and Culture Nests) and enhancing transitions from early childhood education and care settings to school.
