Over 40% of our schools are regional, rural or remote. This accounts for almost 25% of our students. We are working to ensure we are providing quality education to every student in every school, everywhere.

Financial support of up to $2,000 is available for regional high schools to host events where former students are invited to speak to current students about life after school.

Local links and learning: resilience in regional, rural and remote schools
The James Martin Institute for Public Policy (JMI) has recently released a research report outlining opportunities to boost resilience in regional, rural and remote schools. The project was a collaboration between the department and JMI, and aimed to increase the evidence base around resilience in regional learning communities.
