The NSW Education Housing Strategy and Action Plan is a joint intiative by the Department of Education and Homes NSW to address the unique housing challenges faced by educators in regional, rural and remote communities.

Teacher housing plays a vital role in many rural areas where there are limited housing options available. This 3-year strategy outlines 35 actions to improve housing across 4 areas – enhancing the portfolio, improving maintenance, strengthening support, and incentives and governance.

This Strategy has been developed in collaboration with our schools, education partners and stakeholders to ensure it is addressing the areas of most need.
