Workload reduction reports
Audit of teachers' administrative tasks – final report
In March 2023, the NSW Government committed to reducing teachers' administrative workload by at least five hours per week. This report outlines the findings from a comprehensive audit of the administrative and bureaucratic tasks undertaken by teachers in NSW public schools. The audit aimed to identify high-impact workload drivers and explore ways to remove, simplify, or digitise tasks, enabling teachers to focus on quality teaching and learning.
Key findings highlight the significant role of operational tasks, the influence of policy on workload, and the critical importance of school context.
