Multi-age K–2, mathematics, Year A – Unit 16

Provide students with opportunities to explore different situations to use addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in this two-week, multi-age sample unit.

In 'There are many different situations where addition, subtraction, multiplication and division can be used', students are provided opportunities to:

  • rename and partition numbers
  • use flexible strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems
  • represent equality
  • use equal groups to represent multiplication
  • use flexible strategies to solve multiplication and division problems.
