Multi-age K–2, mathematics, Year A – Unit 11

Further develop students' knowledge, understanding and skills of place value and number representation in this multi-age sample unit – Collections of ten are really useful.

Syllabus

Syllabus outcomes and content descriptors from the Mathematics K–10 Syllabus (2022) © NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) for and on behalf of the Crown in right of the State of New South Wales, 2024.

In this unit, students will learn to:

  • connect counting and numerals to quantities
  • quantify, organise and represent large collections
  • identify part-whole relationships in numbers up to 10
  • demonstrate equivalence using mass and number combinations
  • investigate mass and time
  • describe the position of themselves and pathways between locations.
