Supporting Stage 6 teaching and learning
While the principles of effective learning apply across all stages of schooling, Stage 6 places distinctive demands on students. Senior courses require deeper conceptual understanding, sustained engagement with complex texts and ideas, and the ability to apply disciplinary thinking with increasing independence.
As part of the Stage 6 Strategy, guidance and supporting resources have been designed to ensure teachers and school leaders have the tools and confidence to support all students in achieving their potential in Year 11 and 12.
These Stage 6 resources include:
- annotated work samples
- classroom videos and supporting resources
- illustrations of practice
- sample implementation and progress monitoring (IPM) plans
- syllabus-specific resources
- termly professional learning calendar
- quick reference guides (QRGs).
