Resources to help you plan, program and assess across English 11–12.

Support provided for senior English

A range of resources and materials are available to support the enactment of the 11–12 English syllabuses.

  • Planning – planning for each Stage 6 course is supported by the provision of syllabus and policy aligned planning templates.
    • A sample syllabus requirements planner is provided for each course to demonstrate how it can be used to support planning.
  • Scope and sequences – scope and sequence templates and samples have been developed to assist teachers to create and deliver teaching and learning practices that are contextualised to their classroom.
  • Programming and assessment – assessment schedule templates and samples have been developed to support schools in meeting the requirements outlined in the syllabuses and the ACE Rules.
    • The sample programs are available for teachers to adopt and adapt as they create learning experiences for students in their context.
  • Differentiation and adjustment – the sample programs offer a range of suggestions and strategies to create learning experiences that are contextualised to students’ needs, interests and abilities.

Syllabuses

2017 syllabuses

The current 2017 syllabuses will be taught until the final HSC examination takes place in 2026. The syllabuses are located on the NSW Education Standards Authority website.

2024 syllabuses

The 2024 Senior (11–12) English syllabuses are to be implemented beginning with Year 11 in 2026. The first HSC examination of his syllabus content will take place in 2027. The syllabuses are located on the NSW Curriculum website.
