Professional learning – Respectful Relationships Education

- promote a school culture of respect and gender equality
- strengthen safe and inclusive learning environments
- drive primary prevention and lasting change.
Professional learning sessions will build the capability to deliver RRE in a whole-school approach to promote a culture of gender equality and respect.

Principal networks can also email RRE-Schools@det.nsw.edu.au to request access to leader professional learning. Leader professional learning includes face-to-face and online sessions for system and school leaders.
As a result of this professional learning, leaders will:

- leverage existing initiatives, actions and programs to support RRE
- create a respectful school culture
- address resistance and build ownership within the school community
- support staff and students with lived experience of domestic, family and sexual violence
- plan for and embed RRE in whole school change.
School staff professional learning
Professional learning is designed and delivered through the RRE Program for:
- leaders and teachers of RRE K–12 curriculum
- whole school staff implementing RRE and creating respectful school cultures.
These modules are designed to:
- deepen teachers' understanding of RRE, respect, gender and inclusion
- develop the skills to recognise and address the drivers of gender based violence
- build confidence to respond to school based situations which centre around gender, masculinities and/or attitudes which can lead to violence
