Changing the picture

Coercive control resources
The following resources provide information to help understand coercive control.
NSW Coercive control
In NSW, coercive control became a criminal offence in current or former intimate partner relationships on 1 July 2024. To support this legislative implementation, the NSW Government launched a website aimed at educating the public about coercive control.
Australian Government Coercive Control
This is an Australian Government website hosting the National Principles to Address Coercive Control in Family and Domestic Violence, fact sheets and videos to build community understanding.

ThinkUKnow Australia
ThinkUKnow Australia is an evidence-based education program led by the Australian Federal Police to raise awareness and deliver education about preventing online child sexual exploitation.
eSafety Commissioner
The eSafety Commissioner (eSafety) is Australia’s independent regulator for online safety. The website educates Australians about online safety risks and how to navigate the online world, as well as providing support by removing harmful content.
It’s Time We Talked
It’s Time We Talked is a violence prevention initiative to support and protect young people against sexual violence. It also helps parents, schools, government and the community sector to understand the impact pornography is having on young people’s sexual development, relationships and expectations.

National Stocktake and Gap Analysis of Respectful Relationships Education Material and Resources Final Report
This federal government funded report presents the findings from a national stocktake and gap analysis of respectful relationships education programs and resources used in Australian schools. The report outlines a roadmap for improving RRE in Australian schools through a consistent approach to coordination, delivery, oversight and evaluation, and makes 7 key recommendations.
National Community Attitudes towards Violence against Women Survey
The periodic survey tells us how people understand violence against women, their attitudes towards it, what influences their attitudes, and if there has been a change over time.
