About Primary curriculum communities
Primary curriculum communities (PCC) enhance curriculum leadership by providing professional learning and connecting schools to foster collaboration and share best practices. This collective approach promotes evidence-based teaching and learning statewide.
Purpose of PCC
PCC aim to:
- build confidence in K–6 leaders to support their school with curriculum implementation
- support consistent curriculum practice across classrooms and schools in NSW
- drive evidence-based teaching and learning to improve student outcomes
- create local K–6 communities that foster collaboration and a shared understanding of best practice
- provide equitable access to targeted professional learning, resources and curriculum support.

PCC leader
What is the role of the PPC leader?
PCC leaders attend professional learning with the Primary Curriculum team. The PCC leaders are school-based staff who lead a community of schools. They provide guidance, facilitate professional learning, collaboration and share expertise using resources from the Primary Curriculum team.
PCC school coordinator
What is the role of the PCC school coordinator?
School coordinators are school-based teachers who attend PCC each term. They facilitate the sharing and implementation of professional learning from PCC meetings, with their school staff to support effective curriculum implementation.
PCC mentor
What is the role of the PCC mentor?
PCC mentors are members of the Primary Curriculum team. They share their curriculum expertise to support the PCC leader to plan and lead professional learning, and facilitate collaboration each term.
How to join a PCC
If you would like to be involved in a PCC, you can nominate to be a school coordinator and represent your school.
