Summary
The purpose of this review is to ensure the NSW Department of Education selection process remains fit for purpose when placing gifted students in selective schools. Using six research methodologies, the review found that the NSW selective schools provide valued choice for gifted students and their families as part of a comprehensive, equitable public education school system. The review also revealed that the selection process needed modernisation if it is to be fit for purpose in the coming decades and identified opportunities for improvement.
