Purpose

This professional learning provides teachers with an opportunity to identify where measurement occurs in their syllabus and link syllabus outcomes with the Understanding units of measurement sub element within the National Numeracy Learning Progression.

Participants will develop an understanding of formative assessment and its application to measurement and explore teaching strategies to support students’ development within measurement.

Completing this course will help you to:

• identify where measurement occurs in the NSW syllabuses

• develop an understanding of formative assessment and its application to measurement

• define measurement and explore its key ideas
  

• link syllabus outcomes with the Understanding units of measurement sub-element within the National Numeracy Learning Progression
  

• explore teaching strategies to support students’ development within measurement.
