Measurement across Technological and Applied Studies

Purpose

This professional learning helps embed measurement into the teaching and learning programs for Technical and Applied Studies (TAS) - Stage 4 Technology mandatory, Stage 5 Textiles Technology and Stage 5 Engineering

Participants develop teaching and learning activities to improve student learning outcomes in measurement.

This professional learning follows on from content presented in the prerequisite course Understanding units of measurement.

Completing this course will help you to:

  • strengthen your understanding of how to apply the 'Understanding units of measurement' indicators from the National Numeracy Learning Progression which are used to explicitly teach numeracy in TAS.

Register for ‘Measurement across TAS' via MyPL (course code AC00645).

Note: To enrol in this course, participants must first complete the prerequisite ‘Understanding units of measurement’ via MyPL (course code AC00064)

This course will contribute to NESA Accredited PD towards maintaining teacher accreditation in NSW. See MyPL for details of the specific Australian Professional Standards for Teachers addressed.
