Purpose

Strengthening Writing – Actioning Check-in data is a suite of three optional online courses in support of the Check-in Year 6 writing assessment.

Who should participate?

Year 6 teachers and school leaders and Year 7 teachers supporting transition to high school.

Strengthening Writing – Actioning Check-in Data: Grammar and punctuation

Content

Completing this course will support teachers to develop an understanding of grammar and punctuation and learn about a range of strategies for supporting students in writing across the curriculum.

This course will contribute to NESA Accredited PD towards maintaining teacher accreditation in NSW. See MyPL for details of the specific Australian Professional Standards for Teachers addressed.

Strengthening Writing – Actioning Check-in Data: Creating texts

Content

Completing this course will support teachers to develop an understanding of how to create effective informative texts and learn about a range of strategies for supporting students in writing across the curriculum.

Strengthening Writing – Actioning Check-in Data: Spelling

Content

Completing this course will support teachers to develop an understanding of how to strengthen spelling skills for the creation of effective informative texts and learn about a range of strategies for supporting students in writing across the curriculum.
