Measurement across geography

Purpose

This professional learning helps embed measurement into the teaching and learning programs for geography across Stages 2 to 5.

Participants develop teaching and learning activities to improve student learning outcomes in measurement.

This professional learning follows on from content presented in the prerequisite course Understanding units of measurement

Completing this course will help you to:

  • strengthen your understanding of how to apply the 'Understanding units of measurement' indicators from the National Numeracy Learning Progression which are used to explicitly teach numeracy in geography

Register for ‘Measurement across geography' via MyPL (course code AC00535).

Note: To enrol in this course, participants must first complete the prerequisite ‘Understanding units of measurement’ via MyPL (course code AC00064)

This course will contribute to NESA Accredited PD towards maintaining teacher accreditation in NSW. See MyPL for details of the specific Australian Professional Standards for Teachers addressed.
