Construction – Certificate II
This qualification provides an occupational outcome and a range of support tasks applicable to a majority of construction work sites. Construction trainees will acquire basic skills and knowledge relevant to construction, maintenance and renovation practices in the residential sector.

Construction trainees will acquire basic skills and knowledge relevant to construction, maintenance and renovation practices in the residential sector undertaking a range of support tasks applicable to a majority of construction work sites.
You will learn to plan and organise work, carry out measurements and calculations, read and interpret plans and specifications, use construction tools and equipment, apply basic levelling procedures, carry out concreting to simple forms and apply occupational health and safety principles.
Outcome on completion of your HSC
Certificate II in Construction qualification CPC20120 in CPC08 Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package.
Articulation into various trade apprenticeships in the Construction industry.
A career path into the construction industry.
Course delivery
On the job and off the job and can be delivered face-to-face, flexibly or mixed mode.
The SBT term is calculated in months from the date of commencement to 31 December of the HSC year.
Commitment required
Undertake a minimum of 144 days in paid employment and training.
Undertake Certificate II in Construction as part of your HSC.
The employment and training can be undertaken during school time, after school and during school holidays.
How will you be assessed?
Both on the job and off the job through written tests, project work and practical exercises.
