Transcript for Xavier's SBAT pathway

Xavier

It all started when I was very little, watching Bob the builder. And then as I got older, my tastes sort of matured more into grand designs.

I'm doing a school based traineeship in construction pathways entails going to school four days a week and then coming to work every Friday. I also knock six months off my apprenticeship and graduate with my HSC.

Since starting doing the SBAT, but he just has this real sense of he knows who he is and what direction he's heading in life.

The first educational pathways program course that I took was a TAFE Start your future course in fitting, machining and metal fabrication. And it wasn't sort of me. It didn't line up with what I had an idea of what I sort of wanted to do after that. I remember in year ten, doing a two week productivity bootcamp gave me a full rundown of everything that I could potentially do as a carpenter, and I absolutely loved it.

He was able to trial numerous different short courses, and that really helped to cement his desire and his understanding of what he enjoyed and what he probably wasn't so keen on.

I would recommend SBAT to other students as it creates an opportunity to do higher education later on, but also get a career while still maintaining your social life at school, which is really great balance. My plan for the year 12 is to finish my four year apprenticeship, and then just see what opportunities open up after that.
