Transcript for Fire and Rescue NSW EPP
We give them the skills.
We give them emergency life support skills, we give them driver training, we give them all the fundamental skills to fire fighting.
The Educational Pathways Program is a holistic program.
Careers is not an alone subject in a silo.
All stakeholders are involved across the school, the community, families, employers and training organisations.
Absolutely, young people should definitely come down here and have a crack at being a fire fighter.
It’s a very good opportunity for them, and they wouldn’t have this in their home town, and especially where I’m from.
I would definitely love to be a fire fighter one day.
I look up to my uncles who are in the fire brigade, so they’re a big role model for me.
And it’s just a good job to have, because you can give back to the community while doing it.
