Quality assessment in PDHPE (secondary)
This MyPL resource is on-demand professional learning that was designed to build staff's knowledge of the new PDHPE K–10 Syllabus and its features.
Audience: Stage 4 and 5 teachers and leaders
Duration: 4 hours
This online course provides participants with the opportunity to:
- review existing assessment tasks
- critique exemplar assessment tasks to identify opportunities for growth and change in their practice
- identify opportunities to link assessments to a scope and sequence
- evaluate the reflection of the syllabus propositions in a quality PDHPE assessment.
Structure
This course supports teachers and leaders to:
- develop an understanding of the importance of the educative purpose of assessment
- explore what quality assessment practices in PDHPE
- build knowledge of assessment for, of and as learning
- use a tool to evaluate an existing assessment task
- identify opportunities to link assessments to a scope and sequence
- create an assessment task including marking criteria and evidence of learning
- critique an exemplar assessment task
- create an assessment schedule (task).
