Quality assessment in PDHPE (secondary)

This MyPL resource is on-demand professional learning that was designed to build staff's knowledge of the new PDHPE K–10 Syllabus and its features.

Audience: Stage 4 and 5 teachers and leaders

Duration: 4 hours

This online course provides participants with the opportunity to:

  • review existing assessment tasks
  • critique exemplar assessment tasks to identify opportunities for growth and change in their practice
  • identify opportunities to link assessments to a scope and sequence
  • evaluate the reflection of the syllabus propositions in a quality PDHPE assessment.

Structure

This course supports teachers and leaders to:

  • develop an understanding of the importance of the educative purpose of assessment
  • explore what quality assessment practices in PDHPE
  • build knowledge of assessment for, of and as learning
  • use a tool to evaluate an existing assessment task
  • identify opportunities to link assessments to a scope and sequence
  • create an assessment task including marking criteria and evidence of learning
  • critique an exemplar assessment task
  • create an assessment schedule (task).
