Transcript for Jayla's SBAT pathway

Jayla

I'm currently studying a Cert 3 SBAT in early childhood education and care.

Working in a preschool, every day you see different side of the kids that you didn't even know they had.

I found out about the SBAT through school. To start the process I did the Start Your Future day, one day a week in year ten. And I did that for early childhood. And that helped me decide that's what I wanted to do. So four days a week, I'll be at school, and during my free periods, I do the TAFE components for my SBAT.

And on Thursdays I do the hands on work at the preschool. The highlight of my week is my Thursdays getting see all the kids. When I leave year 12 I'll leave with my ATAR as well as my CERT 3 from my SBAT. I'm hoping to go to uni and study psychology to work with children. It's made me grow as a person.

I feel like I've matured so much, and I have so much more confidence in myself than what I used to have. I would highly recommend for any student that knows what career they want to do to do an SBAT. It's so rewarding and I get to start my future now.
