ScR Turnover
The ScR Turnover report provides an insight into staff movement (mobility) over a selected period of time. It includes information on staff no longer at the department and position changes outside of the Department.
This report is available only to the School Communications and Engagement unit (SCE).
How will these reports benefit me?
SCE staff can view report information to assist in understanding a School’s workforce mobility.
What does the ScR Turnover report provide?
The following visualisations are available in this report:
Staff No Longer at DoE and Staff Appointed to Another School/Unit
- This column chart displays staff movement by calendar year
- The two categories of turnover – staff who have left DoE, and staff who have left a cluster/school, have been split into different colours.
- Note: if a staff member’s last day is on the 31st December in any given year, it will be counted as a turnover on the following calendar year. The rationale for this is that the school will need to recruit a new staff member for the following year.
- Sometimes staff who leave a school use accumulated leave. Therefore it may appear that staff have left the school later than their last day at the school.
- Staff who have left a school and then come back 1 or 2 terms later, to a new position, are still counted as a turnover. This is because the school had to backfill the original position.
- Click on any category within this chart, e.g. January 2017, to filter the data in the other visualisations to display only staff matching that category.
Staff Head Count by Employment Type

Use the following slicers to select a school and analyse the data:

- Calendar Year – This will select the year to analyse.
What should I look for?
- Does a school have higher turnover than other local schools? This information, combined with information from the Length of Service in Department report, could inform discussions with the principal.
Where does this data come from?
HR system, PERS, PEPS and CEPS
How frequently is data updated?
Fortnightly (after each pay period)
