AsP Turnover
The AsP Turnover report provides an insight into school staff movement (mobility) over a selected period of time. It includes information on staff no longer at DoE and position changes between schools.
This report is available only to Asset Planners in the Planning and Demography unit.
How will these reports benefit me?
Asset planners can view report information to assist in understanding workforce mobility for a cluster and its schools.
What does the AsP Turnover report provide?
The following visualisations are available in this report:
Staff No Longer Employed at DoE and Staff Appointed to another School/Unit
- This column chart displays staff movement by month and year.
- If a cluster is selected, the turnover shown will apply to all schools in the cluster. When a single school is selected, turnover applies to all schools in the cluster. If a staff member moves from one school to another in the cluster, this still counts as a turnover.
- The two categories of turnover – staff who have left DoE, and staff who have left a cluster/school, have been split into different colours.
- Note: if a staff member’s last day is on the 31st December in any given year, it will be counted as a turnover on the following calendar year. The rationale for this is that the school will need to recruit a new staff member for the following year.
- Sometimes staff who leave a school use accumulated leave. Therefore it may appear that staff have left the school later than their last day at the school.
- Staff who have left a school and then come back 1 or 2 terms later, to a new position, are still counted as a turnover. This is because the school had to backfill the original position.
- Click on any category within this chart, e.g. January 2017, to filter the data in the other visualisations to display only staff matching that category.
Staff Head Count by Employment Type

- Click on any category within this chart, e.g. permanent part time, to filter the data in the other visualisations to display only staff matching that category.
Staff Head Count by Personnel Group
- This column chart displays the staff head count by personnel group. The personnel group includes teacher, administration and ancillary.
- Click on any category within this chart, e.g. administration, to filter the data in the other visualisations to display only staff matching that category.

Use this slicer to select a cluster to analyse. You can scroll to find the cluster you need, or use the search bar at the top of the slicer.
Notes:
- To improve report loading times, this slicer will default to the first cluster in the list.
- You can only select one cluster at a time in this report.
- This slicer controls all charts. The cluster and schools displayed will change based on the cluster selected.
- This slicer controls the School Name slicer. The schools available in the School Name slicer will be government schools in the selected cluster.
School Name
The School Name slicer controls all charts. Once a cluster is selected, all schools in the cluster will appear in the School Name slicer.
Calendar Year
Three years of employment data have been provided. All charts default to the current year.
