Curriculum links – early childhood educators

Curriculum links – early childhood educators comprises 4 individual microlearning modules focused on supporting continuity of learning and a strong and successful start to school. This learning is short, flexible and available on-demand. Modules can be completed individually, in any order and at any time.

To maximise impact, educational leaders may choose to facilitate a module/s for groups or teams. Doing so allows leaders to align professional learning with service priorities and add contextual information to consider how this professional learning informs the educational program and practice of early childhood services.

Rationale

Teachers and educators have a key role in the successful transition to school by understanding the curriculum and pedagogy that children are exposed to in each. This course identifies the links between early childhood practices, the Early Years Learning Framework and the Early Stage 1 curriculum. It supports early childhood educators to know the ‘Where to next?’ in terms of learning and to develop a shared understanding of curricula and pedagogy across the education continuum.
