Marking guidelines for science

When creating assessments it is important to create marking guidelines which best reflect the task and a student’s ability to fulfil outcomes. It is similarly important to differentiate assessment tasks to meet the diverse and individual needs of students.

This document supports 7-12 science teachers.

Oral presentation rubric for science

Stages 4 and 5 – rubric can be used for oral presentations in assessment tasks.

Science skills rubric

Stages 4 and 5 – A rubric for science skills of planning, methodology, processing data, concluding and communication that can be used in assessment tasks.

Sound waves

Stage 5 – LFH – 2-3 hours – Students will explore energy transfer through different mediums using wave and particle models.
