Markets on school grounds

Markets held on school grounds are established through a tender process to select the market operator.

Market operators that wish to use the school site should respond to the call for tenders.

Vendors who wish to trade at the markets negotiate directly with the market operator.

Principals must contact School Infrastructure NSW Asset Management Unit for advice and for assistance in relation to the tender process or items to be considered to form part of a proposed licence agreement.

On behalf of the department, School Infrastructure NSW:

  • determines the licence fee to be charged
  • prepares the licence agreement between the department and the market operator.

See section 5.8 of the Sharing of School Facilities implementation procedures for more information.
