Electoral events

NSW Government schools may be used as polling places for federal, state or local government electoral events.

The conduct of elections has priority use of school facilities when these are not required by the school.

The principal may suspend or cancel community use agreements to accommodate federal, state or local electoral events.

Schools will be approached for the use of their premises by the electoral commission officers who will confirm the details of specific local arrangements.

Terms and conditions of use, including hire rates, apply when using NSW Government school facilities for electoral events.

See section 5.6 of the Sharing of School Facilities implementation procedures for more information.
