Unit 1 – getting healthy

A 9-lesson unit for Year 11 with resources.

The lessons and sequences in this program of learning are designed to allow students to explore the connection between mathematics and health through statistical analysis. Students will learn about sampling methods, survey question desgin and analysis using histograms, polygons and boxplots. Students will apply algebraic concepts to various formulas related to health fields.

Assessment tasks

Students will use a statistical investigation process to investigate an aspect of ‘Getting healthy’. Their results will be presented in a report which aims to answer a driving question.
