Leadership learning for regional, rural and remote middle leaders
The School Leadership Institute team recently visited Deniliquin High School for the second Regional, Rural and Remote Middle Leaders Program (RRRMLP) delivery for Semester 2.
The team was joined by 36 principals and middle leaders from across the Deniliquin Network who took part in Phase 1 of the professional learning (PL) sessions over 3 days.
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Participants described the learning as “relevant and practical” and valued the opportunity to network with colleagues while undertaking face-to-face learning.
“I found this PL powerful, it gave me a lot to think about,” one participant said. “After today, I now feel better equipped to trust my ability to be a great leader.”
The RRRMLP is tailored specifically to support the leadership development of middle leaders in regional, rural and remote schools across NSW.
Committed to professional development
SLI Director Joanne Jarvis said it was a “privilege” to work with such an engaged group of colleagues. “They are thirsty for leadership learning and are keen to continue learning with us to complete all 3 modules,” she said.
During Semester 1, the Ulladulla and Grafton networks were the first to complete all face-to-face professional learning elements of the program, while the Far West network commenced its participation in the same period.
Engagement across all networks was positive with participants placing strong value on the face-to-face professional learning opportunities.
