Moving oceans

Stage 5 – 8-10 lesson learning sequence focused on exploring how sustaining the environment can improve the health, safety, appreciation of their environment and wellbeing.

Consider the following questions when adapting or developing teaching and learning units.

The following sample resource can be adapted by teachers to suit the individual needs of their students. Use these resources to plan and deliver PDHPE. They are suitable for the PDHPE K-10 syllabus (2018).

Resource content

Students will:

  • learn about the role of sport, physical activities and leisure in how we come to care for oceans and coasts
  • explore the everyday individual and community relationships we develop through surfing, swimming and other ocean lifestyle sports
  • understand how sports and activities keep our bodies and minds healthy and play a key part in the health of oceans and coasts too.
