Mathematics – Multi-age – Year A – Unit 18

This two-week unit develops student knowledge, understanding and skills of data.

Students are provided opportunities to:

  • arrange objects to form a data display
  • organise and represent data in effective and accurate ways
  • recognise and describe the element of chance in everyday events
  • conduct surveys to collect data and use data to solve problems
  • gather and organise data and then display it in tables and picture graphs
  • interpret a data display and describe information using comparative language.

  • Instantly name the number of objects within small collections
  • Connect counting and numerals to quantities
  • Use counting sequences of ones with two-digit numbers and beyond
Data – MAO-WM-01, MAE-DATA-01, MA1-DATA-01, MA1-DATA-02
  • Respond to questions, collect information and discuss possible outcomes of activities
  • Organise objects into simple data displays and interpret the displays
