Design lessons

Once you've identified a promising opportunity, the next step is to design a solution or product that addresses the needs or challenges you've identified.

When designing, you plan or draw to show the look and function of the object before it is made. You invent something or make existing things better.

iDeate

iDeate (DOCX 328 KB) lesson plan explores ideation. To ideate is more than generating concepts; it is a dynamic and systematic approach to cultivating creativity, unearthing possibilities, and crafting solutions that address complex challenges.

In this lesson, students will:

  • explain an idea
  • demonstrate where ideas come from, for example through problem solving
  • explain how to be open to new ways of thinking
