Face-to-face excursions

A visit to the Nihongo Tanken Centre offers students immersion in a Japanese experience. From the initial welcome to the last goodbye, communication is in Japanese, with centre staff experienced in communicating effectively with both Japanese and non-Japanese speakers from Kindergarten to Year 12.

At the centre students engage in a 4-hour program, customised to suit each school’s needs. Activities enable students to practise and extend their language skills.

For Stage 6, you can choose a standard face-to-face excursion, or an HSC-focused excursion, with a focus on Stage 6-related content and speaking skills.

Additional Stage 6 support – NSW government schools

For Stage 6 students in NSW government schools, the Nihongo Tanken Centre also offers:

• 40-minute online speaking sessions (Term 1 only) – please email us at nihongo.tanken@det.nsw.edu.au with your preferred dates, times, school name, student numbers and course level
• holiday workshops, advertised via the Languages NSW (7–12) statewide staffroom (staff only).
