Still life - fast moving – Interactive resource

A student-centered online unit investigating the history and genre of still life through the practice of four contemporary Australian artists.

Goal

When completing this unit of work students will understand the history and genre of still life and investigate the practice of four contemporary Australian artists working in this genre.

How

  • This resource can be used with students completing the preliminary or HSC Visual Arts course.
  • Students completing the preliminary course can work through the online art making and art historical/ critical content.
  • Students completing the HSC course can work through the art and or historical and or critical content as a 6 hour case study
  • Teachers can work through each lesson with the students and interact with students and provide feedback using a shared online platform, such as google classroom, as students progress through the online content in this presentation.

Note: each lesson might take longer than an hour. Artmaking tasks might take several hours. Teachers should advise students of how much time to spend on each activity and which tasks will receive formal feedback.
