Community languages school grants
Eligible not-for-profit community organisations can apply for grants to support the delivery of community language education. There are three types of grants:
Establishment grant
The one-off Establishment grant of $2,500 supports eligible organisations setting up community language classes for the first time. The aim of the grant is to help new community language schools in their first year.
Organisations applying for an Establishment grant must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) by 10 March if they intend to apply for funding in the same year.
Per capita grant
This grant helps eligible community language schools meet operating costs such as teaching materials, teacher allowances, and equipment.
Funding is based on the number of eligible students enrolled who attend at least 70% of classes in Term 1 of the current calendar year.
Organisations may apply after operating their community language school for more than one year and meeting eligibility requirements.
Eligible organisations may also deliver approved online learning in accordance with the Online learning program guidelines.
Specific project grant
This grant grant supports the development of teaching and learning materials or professional learning and training activities. Organisations can apply for a grant of up to $10,000.
Projects must benefit the wider community language schools or be able to be adapted for use by other language groups.
