Narragunnawali – reconciliation in education
Narragunnawali supports schools and early learning services in Australia to develop environments that foster a higher level of knowledge and pride in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and contributions.
While this Reflect RAP is targeted towards corporate staff, the department encourages reconciliation in schools and early learning centres through Reconciliation Australia’s Narragunnawali program. This program supports the development of environments that foster a higher level of knowledge and pride in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and contributions. At the time of publication, there are 135 government schools in NSW that are in the process of developing a RAP and four that have a published plan.
Aboriginal education and training is core business for all staff in NSW public schools. Schools are committed to improving outcomes for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and advancing reconciliation with their local communities.
