Speaker 1:

Hi, my name is James.

Speaker 2:

My name is Katrina.

Speaker 3:

And my name is William.

Speaker 1:

We are from Bilpin Public School and we are recording this on the land of the Darug people.

Speaker 2:

Today we are going to show you how to access OneNote.

Speaker 3:

We are also going to show you how to find your way around OneNote. OneNote is like a binder with pages. The notebook is divided into three main parts, Content Library, Collaboration Space, and your own personal space. The Content Library is where your teacher puts notes, videos, or links for the whole class to use. Only the teacher can edit these pages. In our class notebook, we have a section for math interactives, math lessons and English. In the math interactives, our teacher puts links to activities that help us practise maths.

Speaker 1:

Your personal section is where the teacher can put work that you can edit. It might be a worksheet or an Exit Ticket.

Speaker 2:

You can also take screen snips and paste them into your personal section.

Speaker 1:

For example, if I've done an activity on Polypad that I want to show my teacher, I can press Window + Shift + S. This will let me take a snip on my screen. Then I go to OneNote and press Control + V to paste.b

Speaker 3:

If you have got a work example that your teacher wants you to mark up, you can select the draw tab, pick which pen you would like to use, and now I could show my teacher I know where the Incas live.

Speaker 2:

There are different ways to tag information in OneNote.

Speaker 1:

For example, if you are writing a list of information that you need to collect for an assignment, you can add a checkbox to each item. Then when you have completed that task, you can tick it. For example, click on the Home tab, scroll sideways until you find the Insert Tag. Click on the first one, which will say To-Do. Once you've clicked on that once you have finished your assignment, you can tick off and keep track of what you have done.

Speaker 3:

You can open OneNote using the Student Portal. Firstly, go to your Student Portal and click on the Microsoft 365 icon. Then when you get in on the left, there is a button that says Apps. You click that and then you'll find OneNote and click it and go to Shared and press on your notebook.

Speaker 2:

If your class uses Teams, you can open your class notebook using the menu in Teams. Go into Student Portal and press Microsoft Teams. Once you're in, go to Class Notebook. Then press the bookshelf button.

Thank you for watching our video about OneNote.

Speaker 1:

We hope this has helped you navigate and explore this useful resource.
