Road safety education: Safer behaviours through PDHPE 7-10

This professional learning supports 7-10 PDHPE teachers in effectively delivering best practice road safety education, aligned with the PDHPE 7-10 Syllabus (2024), as part of a whole school approach.

Road-related crashes are a leading cause of death and serious injury for young people in NSW.

Learning outcomes

Participants will:

  • engage with the PDHPE 7-10 Syllabus (2024) to identify road safety content and plan for effective curriculum implementation

  • explore resources, including On the Move, to enhance teaching and learning programs

  • contextualise resources to meet the needs of their students.

Funding

  • Casual relief funding is available if your school has not attended in the last 4 years.

  • Additional teachers are welcome to attend with relief paid by own school.

Accreditation

This professional learning:

  • provides 5.5 hours of accredited professional development

  • addresses Australian Professional Standards for Teachers 2.1.2 and 3.4.2 (proficient stage).
