Road safety education: Safer behaviours through PDHPE 7-10

Road-related crashes are a leading cause of death and serious injury for young people in NSW. This professional learning supports PDHPE teachers to effectively implement road safety education, aligned with best practices for students in years 7-10.


At this full-day workshop, teachers will:

  • investigate opportunities to enhance their Stage 4 and Stage 5 teaching and learning programs, through a skills-based approach and integrating literacy, numeracy and critical and creative thinking.

  • review various resources to support the effective teaching of road safety and meet the diverse learning needs of their students.

Accreditation: This workshop is recognised as 5.5 hours of registered professional development addressing Australian Professional Standards 2.1.2, 3.4.2, for gaining or maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

Cost: Casual teacher relief is available if the school hasn’t previously attended. Additional teachers are welcome to attend with relief paid by own school
