Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) microlearning

The Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) microlearning course explores how to access and engage with the AEDC dataset. Participants are guided to reflect on their own context and plan how they can use the data to make evidence-based decisions.

This professional learning has 8 modules. Users can choose to either complete the course sequentially, or to participate in the individual modules that best match their needs.

Module 4 – A collaborative approach

Module 5 – School teachers using the Australian Early Development Census

Module 6 – Early Childhood educators using the Australian Early Development Census

Module 8 – Community organisations and government agencies using the Australian Early Development Census

Throughout the modules, a range of examples are provided to demonstrate how schools and services have engaged with their AEDC data to develop policy and improve practice.

Target audience

Preschool, early years and primary school educators, supervisors and leaders, as well as community-based professionals and allied health professionals.

Mode of delivery

Modules 1-4 are now available on MyPL. Modules 5-8 will be released by 27 January 2023.
