This course is for people interested in entering the Outdoor Recreation industry. You will develop skills and knowledge to be competent in outdoor recreation environments and assisting with the conduct of a range of outdoor activities.

Is this course right for me?

This course develops the skills and knowledge required to undertake the operational logistics and the delivery of outdoor recreational activities. You will learn to use a range of fundamental activity techniques and can work as an assistant in indoor and outdoor recreation environments, adventure learning centres or camps. To become a leader of outdoor recreation activities further training is required.

Where can this course take me?

This course provides a pathway to work as an outdoor recreation assistant in any type of organisation delivering outdoor recreation activities including commercial, not-for-profit and government organisations.

To undertake leadership roles in the outdoor recreation industry you need to complete courses such as SIS40621 Certificate IV in Outdoor Leadership or SIS50421 Diploma of Outdoor Leadership.
