Stage 3 activity - bus safety

This lesson plan is designed to engage Stage 3 students in thinking critically about safety when travelling on a bus. It promotes awareness of potential risks and empowers students to develop strategies for safe behaviour in and around buses.

Using the POOCH model, students are encouraged to explore, analyse, and make informed decisions to ensure their safety during bus journeys

Students:

  • identify key road safety messages to be a safe bus passenger
  • give examples of actions that promote safety when travelling by bus
  • apply problem-solving and decision-making skills to respond to changes in bus travel
