A learning sequence where students investigate ancient and, or, modern representations of Palmyra.

Students investigate:

  • the geographical and historical context, including:
    • the location of the site of Palmyra
    • the development of the city from an agricultural village to the hub of the Silk Road
    • significance of the Silk Road and the nature of trade
