NSWEduChat reduces risks associated with using GenAI and is safe for personal information with built-in filtering to ensure content is monitored to ensure safety for teachers. All data in NSWEduChat stays in Australia and is accessible only to the department.​

Aligned with the New South Wales AI Assurance Framework and the National Framework for Generative AI in Schools, NSWEduChat includes safeguards to protect users while supporting teaching, learning and administrative tasks. Like other generative AI tools, NSWEduChat can simulate many tasks that a human might perform but may not always be accurate. School leaders, teachers and trained, experienced employees in non-teaching positions should apply professional judgement when using NSWEduChat to ensure its outputs align with professional standards and school contexts.

Looking for inspiration? The prompt library provides a collection of tested, teacher-developed prompt templates to help you make the most of NSWEduChat. You can customise these prompts by adding information about your relevant school context where needed.

The prompts are categorised thematically and include a range of prompts to support you with explicit teaching, student resources, assessment, communication and administration.

Many prompts are also subject-specific and delve into a wide range of prompts to support students from the Early Years all the way through to Year 12.

Get started

Launch into NSWEduChat directly from the prompt library by clicking the ‘Open in NSWEduChat’ button. Ensure you are logged into your department Google account (userID@education.nsw.gov.au) to access the prompt library e.g: john.smith72@education.nsw.gov.au.

The department has developed a range of professional learning modules (Staff only) and the Staff Resource Library (Staff only) which houses professional learning and tailored resources to support you on your generative AI journey. Explore these materials and build your confidence in using AI responsibly in your school or workplace.
