Taronga Zoo is a champion employer for programs across Aboriginal Initiatives, in particular the Elsa Dixon Aboriginal Employment Grant and the Djinggi school-based traineeship program (staff only).

Through initiatives like the Elsa Dixon grant and the Djinggi program, Taronga Zoo provides training and employment opportunities for apprentices and trainees to achieve their dream career.

In addition, they have created the Adam Knight Scholarship to honour the memory of Adam Knight, an individual who dedicated his career in the NSW Department of Education to supporting and empowering young people to realise their potential and achieve meaningful, positive outcomes.
