Before and After School Care Vouchers
The Department of Education has taken significant steps to improve access to before and after school care (BASC), including the development of the BASC Voucher Program which offered families a $500 voucher per child to support the cost of accessing BASC services, by covering the cost of the parent gap fee under the Child Care Subsidy.
The BASC Voucher Program launched on 28 February 2022, and closed on 30 June 2023. Any credit left on the voucher has now expired, and will need to be reimbursed to the NSW Government. Providers that are required to make a reimbursement payment will be contacted after a financial reconciliation process conducted by the NSW Department of Education.
