The research was completed in 2023 by the Centre for Local Government, a part of the University of Technology Sydney’s Institute for Public Policy and Governance.

The report provides key insights into the role of local government in supporting the sector and looked to:

• map the local government early childhood service landscape across NSW
• identify current and emerging local government early childhood service needs and challenges
• document options for the future, including options for improving or facilitating the delivery of early childhood services at a local government level.
