Part C features the Pattern Book and Data Sheets showing pre-designed spatial compliant and repeatable Design Components for schools.
These layouts show how building components should be arranged and Data Sheets set out what they include—making it easier to brief your team, visualise the design, and collaborate effectively throughout your project.
Part C provides clarity for project teams embarking on all types of projects. It provides design intent through diagrams, data sheets drawings and BIM and scheduled information.
Part C illustrates the typologies of different components and how they can be applied in flexible and varied ways, while maintaining alignment with the technical requirements in Part D.
It also contains standards-compliant pre-designed components which can be used to provide clear project briefs for both new and upgrade projects as an advanced ‘starting point’ for designs.
Providing pre-designed components helps project teams deliver school infrastructure quickly, and equitably. The Pattern Book is to be applied at a schematic level of detail as an accelerated starting point for schematic phase only.
As with all other parts, Part C is an integral part of the EFSG. Using pre-designed elements can significantly speed up the design process however project teams must design to comply with all sections of the EFSG (including the detailed requirements set out in Part D) and rely on normal project consultant inputs.
Meeting the PART C outlined in this document does not replace obligations to meet other requirements of the EFSG.
