High expectations: when teachers value academic achievement and hold the expectation that every student can, and should, work toward their potential.

A recent review of research suggests that teaches can ensure high expectations through:

  • differentiated instruction
  • individualised feedback
  • frequent and meaningful classroom interactions
  • providing students with challenging learning experiences
  • encouraging continuous improvement.
